Dutch Railways partner with Munckhof

Dutch Railways (NS) have awarded their national commission for taxi coordination services to Munckhof.

Dutch Railways (NS) have awarded their national commission for taxi coordination services to Munckhof. During the tender procedure initiated by Dutch Railways in 2013, Munckhof was selected as the best contender in terms of quality and price. Munckhof currently arranges alternative modes of transport for Dutch Railways in the eastern Netherlands.

Taxi coordination services

Dutch Railways (NS) requires daily taxi services to transport their train drivers and conductors to and from the railway stations and the train depots. This service is also needed to transport its employees when train services are disrupted. Having won the tender, Munckhof is now responsible for coordinating and carrying out these services. 'The commission is divided into two parts,' explains director of Munckhof Taxi, Jos Poortinga. 'Munckhof is responsible for coordinating transport centrally, which involves processing incoming taxi reservations, complaints and journey registrations,' he explains. 'Munckhof is also responsible for carrying out scheduled and unscheduled taxi transport for Dutch Railways throughout the Netherlands.'

Quality

Munckhof won the tender because of the added value the procedure required. 'In the various meetings we held with Dutch Railways, it became clear that they were very pleased with the way Munckhof handled similar assignments,' says Poortinga. 'The professionalism, the method of communication and the innovations played a distinct role.'

Collaboration

Munckhof is currently working on several national projects with transport companies throughout the Netherlands. 'We will need to contact several strategic partners around the country to help us carry out our taxi coordination for Dutch Railways. Munckhof will of course be responsible for the overall coordination via its Mobility Centre in Horst,' Poortinga concludes.
