Copenhagen: the perfect hub for corporate travellers

Following the success of the first client trip to Copenhagen in November 2016 Munckhof, together with Groningen Airport Eelde, Nordica and Amadeus, organized a second trip. Six clients of the Delfzijl office were given the opportunity to try the Groningen Airport Eelde - Copenhagen connection, which has been operational for the past six months. They were able to experience the benefits of flying directly to Copenhagen via a regional airport.

The convenience of a regional airport

Early in the morning, the group assembles at Groningen Airport Eelde. With parking availability right in front of the entrance, a check-in time of just 45 minutes and no endless queues at the check-in counter, there is no need to rush. The group receives a warm welcome at the cosy airport restaurant Bites & Flights from Business Development Manager Jonas van Dorp and Sales Manager Jacqueline Muurling. With a view of the air traffic, they tell the group everything about the new connection and the benefits of a regional airport over a cup of coffee.

Copenhagen in less than 70 minutes

Checking in and the security check takes no time at all and everybody boards the small but comfortable 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145. The flight departs at 9:15 AM and the group arrives at the modern Copenhagen Airport after just 70 minutes flight time. Here they are received by Maria Bendix in the Aviator Lounge. This is the perfect place for the corporate traveller to make efficient use of waiting times during transfers. The lounge is designed as an apartment and has all the necessary conveniences. For just €25, the economy class traveller can also use this lounge. Copenhagen Airport has connecting flights to destinations including Tallinn, Stockholm, San Francisco and Tokyo.

Tourist for a day

Copenhagen is the final destination for the group and they walk from the lounge to the underground, located above Terminal 3, which departs every five minutes. So, once again, everything can happen at a leisurely pace. Within fifteen minutes the group finds itself in the vibrant city centre of Copenhagen. The famous Nyhavn with its picturesque brightly coloured houses is not even a five-minute walk away and is the perfect place to grab some lunch. After this, everyone is free to explore the city by themselves. Copenhagen is a compact and easy-to-navigate city which means that the most important places of interest such as Tivoli Gardens, Rosenborg Castle and the famous statue of the Little Mermaid, can all be seen in just three hours’ time.

A smooth trip back to Groningen

After a busy day filled with new experiences, it's time to get back on the underground. Back at Copenhagen Airport, checking in and the security checks once again take no time at all. The boarding passes for the return flight were already handed to the group in the morning during check-in and the flight departs for Groningen Airport Eelde at 5:45 PM. When the group once again sets foot on Groningen soil just an hour later, they are received by Hilrieke Mansholt from Marketing & Sales who hands each of them a goody bag. Travelling from Groningen Airport Eelde has several advantages and saves a great deal of time, making it possible to fly to and from Copenhagen in one day.
