Ergon healthcare transport

A driver needs a good rapport with the target group, be empathetic, and be able to put themselves in their shoes. This is very different from regular transport.

About Ergon

Social development company Ergon helps people in the Eindhoven region who need support to find and retain suitable work. Together with municipalities and employers in the region, Ergon creates social and economic opportunities so that everyone has the chance to participate. At Ergon, every employee is equal and every individual counts.

Collaboration with Munckhof

Since 2012, Ergon has been working with transport partner Munckhof to bring nearly 75 employees to their workplaces safely and reliably. Every day, they travel from their residential groups or home locations to various social work facilities in the Eindhoven region via 26 fixed routes. They are picked up in the morning and brought home at the end of the afternoon.

Daisy Beving, who works at Ergon's Business Support Office, coordinates contact with Munckhof together with two colleagues. “The less I hear, the better!” she laughs. “That means everything is running smoothly.” Ergon is in contact with Munckhof both by telephone and by email. “We have two email addresses for contact: one for complaints via the service desk and one for quick coordination with the account manager. With the latter, we can, for example, request a call service or indicate that we need a low-entry taxi. And if we need to arrange something quickly or it is really necessary to discuss or consult about something, we just call.”

Flexibility and cooperation

Twice a year, Ergon and Munckhof meet in person to discuss areas for improvement. “It's great that we can talk openly with each other. There is always room for improvement, both at our company and at Munckhof, and we work on that together,” says Daisy. A recent point of attention, for example, was an employee's travel time. “I'm sure we'll find a solution together. Munckhof always thinks along with us, not in terms of problems, but in terms of solutions.”

Customized transportation for a specific target group

According to Daisy, transporting Ergon employees requires specific skills. “Our people have different support needs. A taxi driver must have a feel for the target group, be empathetic, and be able to put themselves in their shoes. That's very different from regular taxi transport.” Fortunately, Munckhof is well suited to this: “Their drivers know exactly how to deal with our employees. It just works really well.”

The collaboration between Ergon and Munckhof shows how important reliable and accessible transport is for people who need support. Thanks to Munckhof's flexibility and commitment, Ergon employees can concentrate fully on their work without worrying about their journey. This partnership is a wonderful example of how customization in logistics can really make a difference.
