Munckhof signs Green Deal for Sustainable Care

In May, Munckhof was the first transport company to receive the Green Deal certificate. This Green Deal is an agreement between the national government and other parties to jointly carry out activities to promote sustainable care. The Green Deal ‘Working together on sustainable care’ is facilitated by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) and supported by the healthcare sector.

Replacement and reuse during sustainability efforts

Together with the healthcare sector, Munckhof is working hard to significantly reduce CO2 emissions and waste streams. Munckhof is doing this by, among other things, replacing more and more fuel-powered vehicles with electric vehicles and using environmentally friendly and biodegradable additives and fluids. Munckhof also agrees with its suppliers that usable parts will be reused for the construction of new vehicles. Parts that cannot be reused are used for other purposes. Think, for example, of car tires, which are processed into rubber tiles.

Some facts

  • In 2022, Munckhof drove no less than 54% more electric kilometers compared to 2021.
  • The fleet of electric vehicles increased by 114% in 2022.

Sustainability made possible in part by German investment fund

Through the Belgian company Hansea, Munckhof has been part of DWS Infrastructure since June 2022, a European investment fund with a focus on long-term investments and sustainability. This has enabled Munckhof to realize its sustainability ambitions (such as greening its vehicle fleet) more quickly and to reduce CO2 emissions more rapidly in the short term.

Munckhof has outlined its CSR policy in a CSR-infographic.
