Munckhof is responsible for transporting visitors and volunteers to and from the KLM Open in Zandvoort. In terms of visitor numbers, this golf tournament is the biggest sporting event in the Netherlands and will be held this year from 12 to 15 September at the Kennemer Golf & Country Club in Zandvoort. Munckhof expects to transport approximately 45,000 passengers.

Excellent facilities

The KLM Open is known for its excellent facilities for players, sponsors, the press and the public. Recent editions have featured such outstanding, world-class players as Martin Kaymer, Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy. Daan Slooter, director of the KLM Open, is pleased with this collaboration. 'Transport is the first and last piece of the service puzzle that visitors and volunteers of the KLM Open will encounter. It's therefore extremely important that it runs smoothly. Munckhof is an experienced company, and we have complete trust in them.'

Experienced transport partner

Munckhof has years of experience with the logistical organization of major events. We were responsible for organizing the entire logistics process for the 2012 Floriade horticulture expo, which involved transporting more than 1.2 million visitors. Munckhof was also responsible for coordinating transportation for the MECC in Maastricht, the Werbefußball in Hamburg, the Special Olympics, the Dolfinarium in Harderwijk and the Venloop marathon. Experience has taught us that every project has its own logistical challenges. 'It's extremely important to discuss these challenges with the client at an early stage and take them into account when setting up the transport concept. We need to consider the number of access roads, the number of parking spaces and the distance to the entrance. Creating the best possible experience for passengers and taking over all responsibilities on behalf of our client is paramount at Munckhof,' says Munckhof CEO Tom Roefs.
