New ‘Electric Driving’ E-learning Developed Especially for and by Munckhof
We have taken another major step toward our ambition of driving completely zero-emission. Together with ABC Advies en Training, we have developed an entirely new ‘Electric Driving’ e-learning, specifically tailored to the daily practice of our drivers.
An e-learning tailored to our daily operations
ABC Advies en Training, known for their TX-Keurmerk training programs, had previously developed a generic e-learning course on electric driving for various taxi companies. “But this didn’t meet our needs,” says Rick de Oude, Project Leader for the Electric Driving E-learning: “It included cars that we don’t operate. Our drivers need to recognize themselves in the examples and the vehicles shown.”
Practical tips and relatable examples
Together with Munckhof mentors, trainers, and drivers, ABC created a new training course centered around relatable scenarios and vehicles. It includes practical tips such as how to charge efficiently, how to prevent a neighbor from accidentally parking on your charging cable, and why it’s important to start your shift with a full battery.
Rick acknowledges the anxiety many drivers feel when switching to electric driving: “What you often see is that people find it nerve-wracking the first time they drive an electric vehicle. The biggest fear is getting stranded somewhere without access to a charger. This training builds confidence and helps them head out safely and well-prepared.”
E-learning for Bravo and Valleihopper drivers
The e-learning takes about one hour on average and is filled with practical, real-world information. Drivers also receive a handout, and each electric taxi is equipped with a manual containing specific instructions for that particular vehicle. The training will be offered from this summer to drivers operating electric taxis for Bravo or Valleihopper. These assignments are carried out entirely zero-emission, making it especially important that drivers feel confident in their work. At the end of the year, an evaluation will be conducted, and for next year it will be considered whether the e-learning should also be included in the training plan for other drivers.
