Munckhof to pay for bus driver's license for new coach drivers

Munckhof is expanding its collaboration with Vervoerscollege Venlo by offering free driver training for new coach drivers. With the introduction of a joint training bus, candidates can not only obtain their D driving license free of charge, but they are also guaranteed a job at Munckhof.

Candidates who sign up for the coach driver training program take their driving lessons at Vervoerscollege Venlo, using a training bus specially provided by Munckhof. The driver training program lasts four to six months on average and offers a unique opportunity to start a career as a bus driver without any financial barriers.

“This collaboration significantly lowers the entry threshold for future coach drivers,” says Hans Bartels, Travel Manager at Munckhof. “We have noticed that many interested parties drop out due to the high cost of training. By offering this training free of charge and immediately offering the prospect of a job, we are making the profession more attractive and accessible.”

Flexible planning and independence

Previously, Munckhof and Vervoerscollege Venlo were dependent on training buses from external parties, which sometimes made planning difficult. By working with Vervoerscollege Venlo to deploy their own training bus, both parties now have greater flexibility in planning training courses and driver training. The instructors at Vervoerscollege Venlo supervise the candidates during their driving lessons and training sessions, using their own training bus.

Mobile promotion throughout the Netherlands

The new training bus is fully branded in the style of the revamped Munckhof employer brand and serves as a mobile advertising platform. “With this eye-catching training bus, we not only drive throughout the Netherlands, but we also focus on visibility in North Limburg,” Hans Bartels continues. “This generates extra brand awareness and will hopefully convince even more interested parties to choose a future as a coach driver.”

Open Saturdays for interested parties

To further inform and enthuse potential candidates, Munckhof and Vervoerscollege Venlo will be organizing a number of Open Saturdays in the future. The first Open Saturday will take place on June 14. During this day, interested parties can drop by for an introduction, ask questions, and learn more about training to become a bus driver and the career opportunities at Munckhof. Open Saturdays will be announced via the social media channels of both parties.
