Munckhof strengthens position with acquisition of EHAD Personenvervoer in Helmond
Munckhof Group acquired all activities of EHAD Personenvervoer Helmond on February 2, 2026. With this strategic move, Munckhof strengthens its position in Southeast Brabant and reinforces its role as a leading mobility partner in the region.
A logical next step after years of collaboration
Munckhof and EHAD have been working closely together since 2018 on student transport in Helmond. In recent years, the collaboration has grown into a close partnership, characterized by short lines of communication, mutual trust, and shared values in terms of service, commitment, and reliability. However, the history between the two companies goes back further. In the 1990s, Munckhof and EHAD were both part of the Hermes Group. Munckhof took over EHAD Helmond in 1996, but left the group a few years later, temporarily ending the collaboration.
According to Niels Dankers, fourth generation within the Helmond family business and manager at EHAD, the takeover is therefore a logical next step: "EHAD stands for personal commitment, reliability, and responsibility for our passengers. We share these values with Munckhof. We have been working closely together for years and this step feels natural and forward-looking. I look forward to continuing to build modern, sustainable, and high-quality passenger transport with my team at Munckhof."
Connecting with a rapidly changing market
The transport market is rapidly becoming more professional: tenders are getting bigger, margins are under pressure, and sustainability requirements are becoming stricter. By joining forces, we are creating an organization that is better prepared for these developments and that is strong in both regional and national contracts.
Munckhof itself has already experienced significant growth in recent years, partly thanks to strategic acquisitions and intensive collaboration with its parent company InfraMobility (a portfolio company of DWS Group). The acquisition of EHAD fits within this broader strategy to build a future-proof mobility network.
Shared ambitions: growth, professionalization, and sustainability
The coming months will be spent working on a careful integration process, in which all EHAD employees will be closely involved. For customers, passengers, and employees, services will continue unabated, with the same familiar faces and the same regional commitment.
Behind the scenes, efforts will be made to further professionalize planning, digitization, and sustainable transport solutions. Munckhof has been investing heavily in the sustainability of its fleet for years, including electric vehicles and alternative fuels such as HVO. The joint ambition is clear: to bring passenger transport to zero emissions at the pace required by clients and legislation.
Proud
Koen van Aarssen, Financial Director at Munckhof, responds enthusiastically to the acquisition: "We are proud to welcome our colleagues from EHAD Personenvervoer to the Munckhof family. EHAD is a great company with a long history, built on solid values such as personal service and good employment practices. This acquisition strengthens our position in the Helmond and Eindhoven region, a strategically important region where we still see plenty of opportunities."
